A Journey of Confidence, Creativity, and Fun: Jennifer’s Story with Drama with Hannah-Rose

At Drama with Hannah-Rose, we love seeing children grow in confidence, creativity, and imagination. But what makes our classes truly special is hearing about the impact they have on families. Jennifer, whose three boys—Cameron, Max, and Nate—have all been part of our community, shares her experience of how drama has shaped their journey.

Starting the Adventure: Why Drama?

Cameron was born during the Covid-19 lockdowns, which meant he had very little experience with baby groups or socialising beyond his nursery bubble. When Jennifer saw Drama with Hannah-Rose advertised, she knew it would be the perfect way to help him meet new people and build his social confidence.

Having watched Cameron thrive in our classes, it was a natural choice to bring Nate along too. With two older brothers often busy with rugby and swimming, Drama with Hannah-Rose became a space just for Nate—somewhere he could make his own friends and explore his creativity.

Growing in Confidence & Independence

Over the years, Jennifer has seen first-hand how drama has helped her boys develop. Cameron, in particular, became much more comfortable speaking in groups, forming friendships that continue outside of class. Both Cameron and Nate have also grown in their ability to play independently—a skill that extends beyond the sessions and into their everyday adventures.

Drama hasn’t just encouraged structured play, though—it’s brought some imaginative fun home, too. Jennifer shared that "We also had a lot of teddies join us for pasta last night!"—a lovely reminder of how storytelling and roleplay extend beyond the classroom.

What Makes Drama with Hannah-Rose Special?

For Jennifer, one of the best things about Drama with Hannah-Rose is the welcoming environment, where she can watch her boys experience new things with confidence.

“It’s a joy to come to on a cold Monday morning,” she says. “We also love Hannah-Rose and the wider team!”

For the older boys, the holiday workshops have been a brilliant way to build structure into the school holidays, providing both social interaction and new creative ideas. These workshops have also helped Cameron, who can find new places a bit daunting, build confidence in exploring unfamiliar spaces in a safe and supportive way.

Favourite Moments & Magical Memories

Some of the boys’ favourite moments include:
🎭 The Halloween workshop and the Summer Animal Olympics!
🐊 Playing “Stompy, Can We Cross Your Swamp?”—a game so loved that they now play it at home!
For little Nate, anything involving the toy tea sets and biscuits is a winner!

Would Jennifer Recommend Drama with Hannah-Rose?

Absolutely! Not only has she recommended it to others, but thanks to her, many of Max’s Year 2 friends now regularly attend our holiday workshops.

“For all the reasons above,” Jennifer says, “and because I think engaging independently from a young age really prepares kids for school and all they’ll come across. Plus, it’s a nice thing for me to do too!”

A Huge Thank You!

Jennifer also kindly shared some photos of Cameron and Nate from their early days at Drama with Hannah-Rose, as well as pictures of Cameron and Max over the summer. It’s been incredible watching them all grow, and we’re so grateful to have them as part of our drama family!

If Jennifer’s story has inspired you to join us, we’d love to welcome your little one into our classes or workshops. Get in touch to find out more!
